Holy—, HOW have I waited so long to read this?! Brother is…twisted. As heck! A family of serial killers that abducts and kills, and there’s a boy named Michael (the brother) who suddenly finds himself wrapped up in the midst of this unspeakable evil. It’s the first chapter that instantly grabbed me and convinced me that I’d be having a hard time putting this book down.
The writing is excellent, and cinematic, with a Gillian-Flynn-like atmosphere which runs through the course of the entire book, featuring frighteningly captivating family dynamics – especially the wonderfully crafted, wicked relationship between the two brothers – and the most intense slasher scenes. The final chapters in this horror thriller are action-packed, and powerful. The ending as a whole is just…a rollercoaster of realistic TERROR!! You won’t be able to look away.

That twist ending broke my brain…so utterly shocking and fascinating and gut-wrenching I gasped! Edge-of-your-seat suspense. And that. final. paragraph! It still haunts me. Now excuse me while I go sit in a corner and process what I’d just read. Instant five stars!

The atmosphere in this book is strongly reminiscent of Theme Music by Marie Vandelly (you can check out my 5-star review of this terrifying thriller here!) and also of Gillian Flynn’s Sharp Objects and Dark Places, so if you’ve enjoyed any those crime novels, you’ll most likely enjoy Brother as well – and it’s on sale on Kindle today!
Have you guys read Brother by Ania Ahlborn? What did you think?
This was an easy five star read for me. Ahlborn has never disappointed. Glad you enjoyed it!

I read both of them and I liked The Devil Crept In more but would love to have you read both and see what you think. They’re both good ( no doubt about that!) yet something about that one set it apart.
